Jyl Johnson Pattee is the hostess of the weekly #gno parties on Twitter, which started in September 2008. She is a social media enthusiast, mompreneur, cause marketer, and founder of Mom It Forward. Combining a passion for communication and people, Jyl launched Mom It Forward in 2008 with the mission to “change the world one mom at a time.” Jyl’s dynamic approach to social media has enabled her to build, develop, and grow Mom It Forward into a reliable, active community of influential women in social media. Jyl is known as a “connector” who brings good ideas and people together both on and offline to make a positive impact for causes and brands through education and sharing of experiences.
Jyl offers brands direct access to the most powerful purchasing group—moms and women. Companies including Famous Footwear, Crayola, OfficeMax andCampbell’s have engaged Jyl and Mom It Forward, Inc. for her social media expertise and ability to bring a brand into the online conversation in a fun, meaningful, and influential manner. Her results-driven approach has garnered impressive metrics for clients, significantly impacting their digital brands and social media audiences while converting these relationships into offline action.
Before social media, Jyl worked for Franklin Covey as an award-winning writer and Senior Project Manger. As a project manager, she drove the design, development, and production of multi-million dollar training-related projects for Fortune 500 companies. Jyl’s strengths include her ability to identify and meet client needs and exceed their expectations. As Instructional Designer and Writer, Jyl led the conceptualization and development of instructional formats and approaches for training products. In alignment with her passion for words, Jyl has also worked as an advertising copywriter and newspaper reporter. An entrepreneur by spirit, Jyl also spent six years running a small business with her husband in Salt Lake City.
Her worldly view and desire to bring people together can be traced to the time she spent living in Germany, Ecuador, and Argentina. She not only represents and reflects these values in her role at Mom It Forward but has lived them throughout her life and career. Jyl holds a Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University and is fluent in Spanish. She is a passionate mother of two young boys and a wife of a slightly older one.
